Kat Von D will perform for the first time in the Czech Republic and present her album Love Made Me Do It
Kat Von D, the Mexican-American tattoo artist, model, entrepreneur and above all talented musician with a captivating voice will perform for the first time in the Czech Republic. Already in her childhood, she considered music as her first creative language and her deep feeling for this area of art is reflected in the album Love Made Me Do It. The album is energetic and emotionally charged, and has its own style – just like Kat. The album’s eleven songs echo the eternal will of broken hearts to love until death.
“More than any other medium, music has always been at the core of who I am, even before drawing and tattooing”, says Kat.
Born in Montemorelos, Mexico, the multi-talented artist was inspired to pursue music and art primarily by her grandmother, Clara von Drachenberg, who has been most influential in shaping her artistic sensibilities. Kat Von D got classically trained at the piano from the age of five. She was so fascinated by Mozart and her personal favourite, Beethoven, that she learned to read music. She studied voice for two years, six days a week, under the tutelage of Ken Tamplin and in 2012 began writing with GRAMMY-nominated legend Linda Perry. After that experience, Kat continued to write on her own and in 2014, in London, recorded an original mix of what would later become her full-length debut album Love Made Me Do It with her band.
Kat Von D has managed to surprise many times during her incredible career. In addition to making a name for herself as a celebrity tattoo artist, she founded Musink Fest, a tattoo, music and art festival. As a tattoo artist, she set a Guinness World Record. She is the author of two New York Times best-selling books. She has her own cosmetics line and is a longtime animal rights activist.
