Seasick Steve’s Prague blues debut
A peculiar American bluesman who often plays self-made guitars and who has already impressed fans of Colours of Ostrava a couple of time is coming to Lucerna Music Bar on 25th March next year. Seasick Steve will present his new album Can U Cook coming to Prague as a part of a tour.
His performance on Live On Jools Holland from December 2006 is considered one of the most notable musical breakthroughs in music history: he finished playing and thinking no one had listened to him he threw his guitar away and got famous overnight and forever.
Seasick’s original wood country punk blues carries all the signs of a self-taught guitarist. Raw voice and fingerings has been always suited to guitars self-made of cigar boxes, tins, wheel covers or pickaxe handles, with three or even one string. But he also plays regular guitars, banjo and has mastered slide. His bough his most famous instrument, The Three String Trance Wonder, from a friend seeing it in his barn hung as a decoration. He’s often being accompanied by Dan Magnusson on drums.
